Six Top Government Contracting Opportunities for 2017

On September 26th, 2016, analysts at Bloomberg Government identified a list of the top twenty government contracting opportunities for the upcoming year in a webinar. The list features contracts with a total value of $243.2 billion, with five of the programs valued at $10 billion or more. Nine out of the top twenty opportunities will be in the professional services sector, totaling a potential value of $142 billion. Also, it may be worth noting that the majority of the top twenty programs are indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multiple-award contracts. Although there are twenty top opportunities, a replay webinar on the Bloomberg Government website highlights only six. Here’s a quick look at those six of the top twenty opportunities for federal contracts for the 2017 fiscal year, according to Bloomberg Government:

One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) On-Ramps

OASIS and OASIS SB (Small Business) provide professional services through an array of contract types: financial management, logistics, engineering, management consulting, program management, and scientific services.

  • Estimated Value: $60 billion
  • Agency: GSA
  • Classification: Professional, administrative, and management support services

Seaport Next Generation

Seaport Next Generation will be the Navy’s primary vehicle for acquiring support services like engineering, financial management, and program management.

  • Estimated Value: $50 billion
  • Agency: Navy
  • Classification: Professional, administrative, and management support services

Veteran Enterprise Contracting Transformation and Operational Readiness (VECTOR)

VECTOR will be a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business set-aside contract for professional services.

  • Estimated Value: $25 billion
  • Agency: Veterans Affairs Department (VA)
  • Classification: Professional, administrative, and management support services

Logistics Civil Augmentation Program V (LOGCAP V)

LOGCAP V will provide base life support and airfield operations in support of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, Africa, and Europe.

  • Estimated Value: $10 billion
  • Agency: Defense Department
  • Classification: Professional, administrative, and management support services

Systems Engineering Technology and Innovation (SETI)

SETI will provide engineering services, management support, and deployment activities for DOD services and systems. This is a multiple-award contract with eight task areas.

  • Estimated Value: $7.5 billion
  • Agency: Defense Information Systems Agency
  • Classification: Information technology services, including telecommunications services

Next Generation Enterprise Network II (NGEN II)

NGEN-II will provide net-centric data and services to the Navy and Marine Corps.
