Strategic Consulting Solutions Recognized in 2011 Inc 5000 list of fastest growing companies.

The September issue of Inc. magazine highlights the 2011 Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies. Strategic Consulting Solutions, the leader in compliant solutions to government contractors, has been recognized in the number 2,197 spot boasting an impressive 114% three-year growth rate in revenues. SCS also achieved the 103 slot within the Financial Services category based upon a revenue growth ranking as well.
Founded in 2002 by Laura Davis, Strategic Consulting Solutions provides accounting services, software and compliance support to government contractors nationwide. Davis accredits much of the company’s success to the dedication of her staff who have worked diligently to not only recognize and satisfy the customer’s needs, but also to exceed their expectations which promotes loyalty and word-of-mouth referrals. “We have been so fortunate to have some of the most talented professionals in the government contracting arena working for SCS. September 23, 2010 SCS Annual Government Contracting Update Seminar
Strategic Consulting Solutions, Oak Ridge TN, hosted a full day Government Contracting Seminar at the Doubletree Hotel on September 23, 2010. An outstanding team of professionals in business and government contracting were on hand to present updates and best practices in their respective areas of expertise. Attendees from government contractor businesses in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky enjoyed networking and interaction with presenters and other contractors. A panel of successful local contractors and a procurement specialist from B&W Y-12 provided insight and advice on winning contracts, and tips for successful teaming.
The program included a keynote presentation from Darrel Kohlhorst, President and General Manager of Y-12 Security Complex. Mr. Kohlhorst discussed the mission of Y-12 and its multi-billion dollar economic impact on the state of Tennessee. He also reviewed areas of contracting opportunity in areas such as replacing Y-12's aging buildings, environmental cleanup and other projects. Mr. Kohlhorst highlighted Y-12's support of small businesses, from 2005 -2009, more than half of Y-12's subcontracts were awarded to small businesses.
The agenda continued with information packed sessions and attendees learned about: the keys to success in building a banking relationship; the attributes of the best proposal; guidance on working with DCAA; advice on government contractor and environmental law issues; updates on payment recapture audits and mitigating risk in working with subcontractors; government contracting industry trends; the do's and don'ts of procurement; the impact of health care reform on your organization, and information and resources on audit issues and tax matters for government contractors. An impromptu discussion with an expert from the audience provided 'inside perspective' of recent changes with DCAA.
Laura Davis, President of SCS and Rich Wilkinson, VP of Government Contracting, Deltek, wrapped up the day with closing comments and observations.
At the close of the seminar, attendees felt that they were better informed and prepared to pursue and win more business, and were armed with resources to help them protect their contracts, and better manage and grow their organizations.
SCS has started planning next year's seminar! In the meantime, based on the feedback from presenters and attendees, SCS is coordinating supplementary webinars and roundtable discussions on the topics covered on the 23rd. Plan to attend!
